another day goes by by stucat another day goes by by stucat
third time i've drawn and cged this character but liking him more and more as i develop his story in my head (should really note it down) but something for the [link] that was used as motivation to get me skecthing more than i do now a days. got worried that i might of over developed the image and lost stuff but hey thats what this is for so look and take it in. love that cd
p.s full view to read it better

"The Story"
Various items placed around the room give a hint about the character, serol is a student studying biology, thus the time table (actually my time table) and the bag on the floor with the DNA workbook and Genetics. why this subject? well the right hand side has a picture of a rabbit with alterations like he ears cut out and stuck downwards, the added echidna dreadlocks and tail taped on . I used one of my cds to give a bit of a verbal hint and illustrated it as a poster on his wall. Serol has this one question, he doesn't know what he is and wants to find out why he is different from everyone else. he gets alot of attentsion from this as doesn't like it one bit as he is constantly nagged by the public eye. he wasn't adpoted in but given birth by his mother pictured in one of the photos above his bed and he has nothing against his loving and supportive parents but himself. thats brings us to why hes looking at himself in the mirror, something he does at the end of the day asking himself that one question. the blured genetics, dna, notes give a self description of hows he feeels inside, all messed up in the inside. a contrast to the the clean side of the room we see (another metaphor for him on what we see and what hes sees)
thanks to those who took time to give their story on the image and the DC club for getting me to draw this pic. if you have any more questions feel free to ask! thanks

Daily Deviation

Given 2004-04-16
I originally saw another day goes by by ~stucat in the lineup of a club's entries for a contest, but it struck me so much I wanted to share it with the rest of DA. I can't quite say what it is I find so striking, but there's an overall brooding emotion hanging in the air of this piece that simply draws you in. ( Featured by MPsai )

Such an interesting character! I love the design, story, details, background touches, and all the thought you put into this! Wonderful!

Thanks!
It was pretty fun at the time putting the characters details into the background even though some things are a bit cliché :I

The room is excellent. I find whenever i place characters in a room, or setting..; they don't look liek they are there but you have just seemling done it with no effot what so ever.

It's amazing, the character looks like hes.. really there, in that room. The angles are great and the mirror image doesnt look at all off. (Alike many similar images ive seen here)

Great work, keep it up.

well perspective helps alot to put a character in a place, but also getting colours to match up is needed (especicially in a 2d environment) i also got into the positio myself to try and get angles right and placement. cheers!
